Going Viral
This Nike commercial is talking about a story for the scientist and the clones want to prove that the riskless football is more affective. The original players (Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Neymar Júnior, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Andrés Iniesta, David Luiz, Franck Ribéry, Tim Howard and Ronaldo Fenomeno) disagree, and they are willing to risk everything to prove the scientist wrong. There is only one way to know who is right: the Last Game.
This commercial published on Jun 9, 2014. It has 778,754 viewers from the day it published until now. It has 5740 people who like this commercial, only 149 people dislike it. Besides that, this video has been shared among people through the social network such as Facebook. Why Nike use “Risk Everything” as their slogan? Grasso says, “This film embodies that sentiment and reminds players in every country at every level: If you are prepared to Risk Everything, there’s no telling what you can do.” This film aims to show how some of the world’s best players succeed despite that pressure, through their willingness to risk everything.
This commercial uses a different
way to promote Nike. Commercial mostly use real people to advertise. But for
this commercial, they used animation to promote Nike. Every character
represents a famous football player in the whole world such as Christiano Ronaldo.
This idea makes it different from others. Compare to other advertisement, other
company use the famous football player to be their spokesperson. However, this
idea makes the advertisement more dull and no creativity. Audiences already use
to this kind of idea and some of them might feel boring. The graphic of this
commercial very lively, make people think that they are watching a real person
than an animation. The animation design according to the real character, follow
their size of body, their skills and so on. People will understand easily who they
are.
Football is the most hit topic
nowadays because FIFA World Cup is organized in Brazil and this becomes the
word of mouth of everyone in the world. Everyone concern about the result of
every matches. Therefore, Nike uses this idea to attract people. This idea is
relevant to current environment now.
“Nike Commercial 2014: The Last Game
ft. Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Rooney, Zlatan, Iniesta” is the title of this
commercial. The word “The Last Game” give us an imagination that what the video
will show and what is the meaning of “The Last Game”. People will attract by
the title because they want to find out what the commercial is talking about.
The run time for this video is 5.29 minutes. This video does not too long. The story of this video is meaningful. People will not feel boring when they watch this video. The other reason why people like to watch this commercial is their idol such as Cristiano Ronaldo be the part in this commercial. In the story of this commercial, they use some humour to make it more interesting.

The company app that I choose is ASTRO VIEW

This app is a mobile app. User can download for free
through Google Play for android phones or App store for Apple users. Astro View
is a TV guide app that can enhance our lifestyle through its function. We can
view what are the programmes on TV every day, which is the popular programme
and the trailers and photos of our favourite TV program.

In Astro View, it will show what programmes have in these 7 days. This is to ensure us to catch up with the best programmes and will not
miss the TV programme we want to
watch.

We can record the TV program we want to watch by using

or watch it for several times.

We are busy for our daily life. Sometimes we might forget

can set the reminders via the TV Guides schedule so we can catch up with the
programme.

Why I think this is a good app? I am an Astro subscriber,
with a smart phone that can support this app. For the past, if I want to know
what programmes have on that day, I will go to check through newspaper or
magazine. It is very inconvenient because I can’t always bring the newspapers
and magazines wherever I go. But, after I use this app, I can get the
information which I want to know easily. It saves my money and time. The record
system helps me to record every programme that I like and I can watch the programmes
repeatedly. It also reminds me when the programme starts. This app is very
useful and powerful. This app brings a lot of advantages for us and helps us a
lot.
How to manage your Social Presence in the Digital World-Azhan Rabi
What happened during the talk?
On 14 June, 2014, Mr. Azhan Rabi came to our college to have a talk on
“How to manage your Social Presence in the Digital World”. The talk started on
12pm. Most of the students came on time. The talk started very soon. Before Mr.
Azhan started his talk, one of our course mates, Saravarnan be the emcee to
introduce him.
During the talk, Mr. Azhan shared his experiences. He not only presented
using power point slides, he also used video to enhance our visual aids and our
understanding. He taught us how to use wisely in social media nowadays, which
social media are good for us and what social media we should use.
After Mr. Azhan ended his talk, our lecturer, Miss Sabina gave out
souvenir to Mr. Azhan. Miss Sabina was then briefing us about the blog
assignment and teached us how to create our own profile in Linkedin. Besides
that, she asked us to selfie and let her see during tutorial class. The talk
was ended about 1.30pm.
What you’ve learned from the talk
From the talk given by Mr. Azhan, I realize that many people start to
use social media in their daily life, no matter what age they are. As what Mr.
Azhan said, even our parents know how to use Facebook. Mr. Azhan taught his
mother to use facebook. So do I. We can see what our families do every day.
In this digital world, approximately 97% have online accounts, 65% login
daily. According to this, we can see
that we rely on social media in our life. However, Mr. Azhan mentioned that
most of us like to chit chat using texting. Less face-to-face communication
occurs in our life. We like to share our feelings, opinion through social
media. We will upload our photos and tag our friends to get more “like” from
others. In my opinion, we should not share too much things in social media. If
we did so, we must responsible to everything that may be happen in the future.
We should think wise before we comment and share anything. Besides that, as PR
practitioners, we must be professional in face-to-face communication and also
online communication.
Mr. Azhan also taught us about our digital assets. Digital assets
include our user name and password, our online activities such as
e-transactions, date of birth, our identification card number, our bank account
number and so on. This might cause invasion of privacy. People may use our
private information to commit crimes. Therefore, we must use our social media
carefully and think before we do any decision.
Furthermore, Mr. Azhan said that Linkedin is a very good social network
for us to find our jobs. There are 18,400,000 people found their jobs by sing
Facebook, 8,000,000 using twitter and 10, 200, 000 use Linkedin to find their
jobs. From this data, I realize that social network can also help us in finding
jobs for our future. We can find many professional people in different fields
in Linkedin
From the talk given by Mr. Azhan Rabi, i learned to be wise when i am using the social network nowadays. I know i should think twice before i posted anything in my social network profile. Social media help us in many field. I can use social media to connect with other people all over the world, find my future jobs and others.

Do we hire for 'FREE' media?
Do new media really free?
New media is not free but cheaper than other media. We need to pay for advertising in radio, television and so on, which cost higher than just create a website. However, why new media is not really free? According to Socha and Eber-Schmid(n.d.), new media is a 21st Century term that define those things that are related to the internet and using various technologies, images and sound, which means that we need electronic device such as laptops, mobile phones in order to use new media. Therefore, we need to buy ourselves a laptop or mobile phone, which are not free. Besides that, we need to pay to subscribe internet. For example, we need to pay an amount of money to Unifi so that we can continue to use the internet. Some of the apps are not really free. They are freemium( free+premium), which means that they download for free trial. After some period of time, the apps may need to pay in order to continue.
Qualities of an Effective Social Media Executive
According to nptechforgood (2011), there are some qualities that an effective social media executive should have:
1. Qualification
Social media executive must be good in design, communication and technology. They need to design their web pages so that it can attract people to read through and understand to information. They must also good in communication. They need to know how to communicate with the customers, how to reply the comments from customers and so on. Besides that, they also need to be good in technology. Some of their works require some knowledge in technology such as creating their own web pages.
2. Friendly, patient and responsibility
Social media executive must be always friendly because they need to respond to the comments on websites. They need to be patient to listen what their customers need. Besides that, they need to be responsible if they did anything wrong. They must know how to react and reply correctly. They also need to have the experience in online communication. Face to face communication is totally different from online communication. So, when replying those comments from the customers, they need to be careful to the words they use.
3. Creative and detail-oriented
Social media executive must have some knowledge in design. They need to know how to design their web pages so that people can be attracted and look into their websites. If the designs are too dull, people may feel boring and not interested to look at the web pages. They also need to know how to arrange the information. These can easy the readers to find the information they want and read the information comfortably.
4. Is an early adopter
They must always follow the trends, keep their information up to date. Social media executive must always do research on what the society needs and wants. They need to always observe the trends, keep on following and monitoring the trends. Whenever the new things come, they must be the first to know in order to become early adopters.

Is it necessary to hire new media executive?
In my opinion, it is better to hire a new media executive in a company. Although the job of a new media executive is similar to PR executive, a company is still need a specialist to look after their web pages. PR executive has many jobs. They need to deal with the customers, deal with their high executive in the company, provide idea to promote their company, crisis management, organize events or press conference, write news release or media kits and so on. Sometimes they do not have enough time to update their information in their web pages. So, if a company hires a new media executive, they will have more time to look after their web pages. Their job will be more focus and specialized. They will work more efficient and consistent.

New Media for PR, Advertising and Marketing
What is New Media?
New media is a kind of media
that use extensively in everyone’s daily life nowadays. Every people depend in
new media. According to Socha and Eber-Schmid(n.d.), new media is a 21st
Century term that define those things that are related to the internet and using
various technologies, images and sound. However, the definition of new media
changes every day. This is because new media are still continued to evolve.
Media theorist Marshall McLuhan
said that “The medium is the message.” He is stating that the medium has
control over us in what we see and do, and this term can be used with new
media. For the advantages of new media, it gives us a chance to communicate
with those people who are far away from us, when we are using those social
networks such as Facebook or Tweeter. We can know information from internet
faster and easier because the information from Internet is always up to date
and update very fast. We need not wait for the newspaper to publish. However,
there are some disadvantages. We spend more time in front of new media and
cause us to have less time to interact with colleagues or family. This can
affect the relationship. News in Internet spread very fast. Therefore, if the
information has any mistakes, the news is hardly getting off.
If
compare new media and traditional media, traditional media are more reliable
because they have the watchdogs to check for their information. Therefore the
information is mostly correct. According to Ibold, Hans Peter and John Adams
(2012), newspaper journalists have more experience and credible. They will
provide the truth to the society. However, everyone no matter who they are,
where they from, anyone can be the author to create the information. New media
do not have watchdogs. So, some of the information must not be trust.
New Media and PR
In PR, their job is to
communication between the organizations and society, to create speeches for
their high executive, help to increase the companies’ images and etc. In
traditional way, they use mail to send out the news release, using phone calls
to contact the reporters and others. These require much man power and waste
their time and money. Nowadays, PR practitioners start to use new media such as
websites, social network to complete their work. For example, they can send
their news release through email. This can save their time. PR practitioners
can also send their media kit electronically. This is an eco-friendly way to
protect our environment because it does not require much paper.
PR practitioners can always
update their websites with new information. This can also provide two way
communications because everyone can comment in their websites to give feedback.
Besides that, they can also reach everyone all over the world as most of the
people are using the new media frequently.
New Media and Advertising
For advertising, they advertise
in newspapers, magazines, radio or television because all these media are the
most top media in the past. However, when new media has created, advertisers
start to put their advertisement in the websites. As we can see, there are
advertisements around the WebPages, especially the social network Facebook. New
media advertising is a strong medium to advertise in the internet. It is very
effective to reach large number of audience. Every people in the whole country
can see the advertisement. Advertisers need not print out their advertisement
in newspapers, magazines and etc which require high cost. New media helps them
to save their money and also time to reach their audience. However, some people
may think that the advertisements in new media are very annoying because the
advertisement will always pop out to attract attention.
New Media and Marketing
Marketing responsible to plan and
execute the marketing strategies in product, price, place and promotion in
order to reach society needs and wants. Therefore, they need to do research on
their audience to find out what they need and what the trend is. However, to
find out the interest of the audience, they need to do survey in the
traditional ways. By using new media, marketers can find out the information
they want easily and do their research in effective ways. In order to attract
their audience, they need to come out with another plan. For example, in the
past, people use to go for shopping in shopping mall. But, to make the society feel
more convenient, they come out with an idea, which is online shopping. People can
go for online to search the things they want and buy through online. This can
save much time if compare to those who drive to the shopping mall to buy their
things.
In conclusion, new media helps a lot nowadays. It helps people to do many things in one time effectively. People should use the new media wisely but not in unethical way.
